We are at the threshold of deciding whether the inhabitants of our planet will flourish over the next 100 years. Unfortunately, we are not hard-wired to choose wisely. Tribal instinct tempts us to plan for “our village” over the others. Guided by fight or flight responses to threats, we strive for today’s big prize. What is over the horizon is a problem for another day.
This is the unrivaled test for our current generation. Is there enough science-based leadership to see over the horizon? Is there enough leadership for the village called Earth?
The answer is yes, there is! But today is the day.
